Portrait of Jacob van Heemskerck. Born 13 March 1567 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Died 25 April 1607 in Coast of Gibraltar, Spain. Copper engraving, c. 1640. Reasonable condition. Rather short margins. With a small hole in the lower left corner (not affecting the text) and a very small hole in the upper right corner (just touching the plate). Verso: Dutch text. Dimensions: 154 x 120 mm. Jacob van Heemskerck was Dutch admiral, Admiral, and Dutch explorer.
