Portrait of Christian IV of Denmark. Born 12 April 1577 in Hillerod, Denmark. Died 28 February 1648 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Etching and Engraving by Pieter de Jode the Younger (1606-1674), c. 1640. Good condition. A beautiful strong and early impression. Paper a bit soiled. Some minor browning along edges and some minor creasing. A small tear in the left margin (=not affecting the image). Verso: blank. Dimensions: 168 x 122 mm. Christian IV of Denmark was Aristocrat, King, Duke, King of Denmark and Norway, Duke of Holstein and Schleswig, and Member of the House of Oldenburg.
