Portrait of Frederick III, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp. Born 22 December 1597 in Schleswig, Germany. Died 10 August 1659 in Tonning, Germany. Etching and Engraving by Cornelis Meyssens (c. 1640 - after 1677), c. 1650. Good condition. A beautiful strong and early impression. Paper a bit soiled. Some minor browning along edges and some minor creasing. Verso: blank. Note: dimensions reflect the plate mark. Dimensions: 173 x 119 mm. Frederick III, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp was Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, Patron of Arts, and Patron of culture.
