Portrait of Marcus Claudius Marcellus. Born c. 270 BC in Rome, Italy. Died 208 BC in Venosa, Italy. Etching and Engraving by Theodoor Galle (1571-1633), 1606. Good condition. Paper with ample margins. A nice strong and early impression. Paper a bit soiled, with some browning along edges and some minor creasing. Verso: blank. Note: dimensions reflect the plate mark. Dimensions: 142 x 103 mm. Marcus Claudius Marcellus was Statesman, Military leader, Senator, Roman Senator, Praetor, Consul, Roman Consul, and Killed king Viridomarus in hand-to-hand combat.
