Portrait of Henry Bennet, 1st Earl of Arlington. Born 30 January 1618 in Little Saxham, England. Died 28 July 1685 in Euston, England. Etching and Engraving after Peter Lely (1618-1680), c. 1680. Reasonable condition. Paper slightly browned and a bit soiled. With creasing. Verso: blank, with traces of former mounting. Dimensions: 288 x 184 mm. Henry Bennet, 1st Earl of Arlington was Scholar, Poet, Statesman, Secretary, Secretary of State, Earl, Knight in the Order of the Garter, 1st Earl of Arlington, Secretary to James II of England, Keeper of the Privy Purse, and Postmaster General.
