Splendid Rare 19C Early Antique Period White English Staffordshire Diminutive Figural Spaniel Mantle Dog Group Pair • Textural Coats • Extremely Rare Doubles upon One Base Pair • Base Width 2.5” • Base Length 1.75” • Height 2.5/2” • Kindly read the description below. This is a stunning and extremely scarce antique pair of diminutive English Staffordshire mantle dogs featuring textural coats in classic form and rarely found finely modelled adult spaniel pairs upon each cobalt base. Highly desirable for their timeless style and scarcity, this pair of right and left facing group figures will bring a touch of the English countryside to any setting in which they are placed when paired on their own or as part of a collection or arrangement. Rare surviving examples to own and treasure. Expected age related wear to features and the petite model has a small chip to the central base underside which includes a small portion of the cobalt central portion of decorative base. When on display this is not noticeable as it is not expected by the eye as it observes the figures, kindly view photos. Each side has slightly different modelling as well as detail work to features characteristic of early period pieces where each side may have been decorated by a different artist or factory worker, often a woman or a child. Very early scarcely seen miniature canine figural group objects created in Staffordshire England during the reign of Queen Victoria. * Listing is for white textural mantle dog pair only. Everything about this purchase was excellent. The lambs are in perfect condition and the price was was. They were shipped promptly and packaged with exceptional care. Although the items inside are fragile, they were wrapped in protective layers, placed in a small box, then wrapped and secured in more layers of bubble wrap and paper before being placed in another box. There was no chance of damage! Many thank to the seller for a purchase that makes me very happy.
