Portrait of William Legge, 2nd Earl of Dartmouth. Born 20 June 1731 in London, England. Died 15 July 1801 in Blackheath, England. Stipple engraving, c. 1790. Reasonable condition. Small margins. Some minor soiling. Mounted onto an early 19th century album leaf. Note: dimensions reflect the entire leaf, excluding the mount. Dimensions: 113 x 91 mm. William Legge, 2nd Earl of Dartmouth was Politician, Statesman, Philanthropist, Secretary of State for the Colonies, First Lord of Trade, Earl of Dartmouth, Viscount Lewisham, and He is the namesake of Dartmouth College.
