Description

Portrait of Perseus of Macedon. Born 212 BC in Pella, Greece. Died 166 BC in ancient Alba Fucens, Italy. Etching and Engraving by Theodoor Galle (1571-1633), 1606. Good condition. Paper with ample margins. A nice strong and early impression. Paper a bit browned and slightly soiled, with some browning along edges and some creasing. Verso: blank. Note: dimensions reflect the plate mark. Dimensions: 142 x 104 mm. Perseus of Macedon was King, King of Macedon, King of Macedonia, and Basileus of Macedonia.
