Portrait of Christopher Columbus. Born 1451 in Genoa, Italy. Died 20 May 1506 in Valladolid, Spain. Etching and Engraving, c. 1770. Good condition. Paper slightly browned along edges. Minor, unobtrusive traces of former mounting along the upper edge. Verso: blank. Note: portrayed during his first encouter with Indians. In an attractive, but later handcolouring. Dimensions: 193 x 142 mm. Christopher Columbus was Explorer, Admiral, Italian Explorer, First Explorer of America, Discoverer of America, and Coloniser.
