Portrait of Benjamin West. Born 10 October 1738 in Springfield, United States of America. Died 11 March 1820 in London, England. Etching by William Daniell (1769-1837), after George Dance (1741-1825), 1809. Reasonable condition. Paper with ample margins, but a bit soiled. Some minor, faint spotting. Verso: blank, with and old collection stamp and faint traces of former mounting. Provenance: collection L.A. de Vries, with his collection stamp. Note: dimensions reflect the plate mark. Dimensions: 272 x 204 mm. Benjamin West was Painter, Artist, History painter, President of the Royal Academy of Arts, Autodidact, and Religious painter.
