Antique Victorian fashion illustration titled “Godey’s Fashions – 1865.” This print depicts four women wearing mid-19th century dresses typical of the Civil War era, originally published in Godey’s Lady’s Book, one of the most influential American women’s magazines of the 1800s. Fashion plates such as this were used to showcase the latest styles and were often issued as separate illustrated plates within the magazine. This example has been trimmed from its original publication at some point in the past, a common practice as these prints were frequently removed for display or framing. Condition notes: • Trimmed from original publication • Small tear at the lower edge • Light age toning consistent with antique paper The image remains clear and displayable, making it a nice piece of Victorian fashion ephemera.
