I am not sure about this piece. It's lovely, but I'm only guessing about the use. I'm going with shaving dish and that it is vintage. Or it could be a trinket dish. It appears to be hand painted with gold accents over embossing. The diameter measures 5 in. With a height of 2.5 in. The guilding is sharp and in good condition.
