Vintage ARTMARK Black Ceramic Cat Family Figurine Set A wonderful, collectible mid-century black ceramic cat family imported by Artmark. This listing includes three pieces —one large 6-inch adult cat and two smaller kittens connected by a chain. Configuration Note: The chain is currently only attached to the two kittens. It is highly probable that the chain originally connected to a collar on the main cat, which has since deteriorated a common occurrence for these vintage sets. The three cats are meant to be displayed together as a family group. Key Details: Brand: Artmark (Artmark Chicago) Pieces: Set of 3 figurines (Large cat & 2 chained kittens). Era: Mid-Century Modern (MCM), likely 1950s-1960s. Markings: Original red and gold diamond-shaped Artmark sticker on the base of the large cat. Material: High-gloss black glazed ceramic over an unglazed reddish clay base ( terracotta/redware ). Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The chain on the kittens is intact. The small collars on the kittens show minor deterioration consistent with age. Size: Large cat measures approximately 6 inches tall.
The condition of the item I received was worse than advertised in the description, but the seller was the friendliest and most proactive in reaching a resolution that I have ever encountered! I cannot overstate how wonderful this seller is to work with, and despite the initial hiccup, I would order from them again in a heartbeat knowing that they are super easy to engage and happy to help. Genuinely turned my whole day around with their reception of my complaint, and came to the best fix!
Shipping was fast! Item was packed well. Item arrived exactly as described. Only downside was a STRONG smoke smell on item & all shipping supplies. Luckily I purchased glass so I will wash & hope smoke smell comes off. Had to discard all packaging asap. Unsure if seller smokes but if so they should disclose in their listing as I am strongly allergic to cigarette smoke, as it gives me asthma.
