Description: RARE PERIOD REVOLUTIONARY WAR ENGRAVING "View of The Attack on Bunker's Hill, with the Burning of Charles Town, June 17, 1775". Copperplate engraving on wove paper, engraved by John Lodge after George Henry Millar, (exec. 1781–83.) View of the Attack on Bunker's Hill, with the Burning of Charles Town, June 17, 1775. The print depicts the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first major battle of the American Revolutionary War, fought during the Siege of Boston on June 17, 1775. The battle actually took place primarily on Breed's Hill, which is closer to the Charles River and Boston. Although a tactical victory for the British, who incurred heavy casualties, the battle boosted American confidence by demonstrating that colonial militia could stand up to regular army troops. The scene shows British warships landing troops and firing on Charlestown, while American troops defend their position on the heights. The image is part of Edward Barnard's New, Complete & Authentic History of England and was created between 1781 and 1783.

  1. The items were exactly as described. The seller packaged them very well and that got here safely. Shipping was very quick, about once I bought the item it was already out to ship. It came very quickly especially for international shipping. The price was fair for the items, shipping ended up more than the items themselves.
