Mrs. Lois Taylor playing piano and singing tenor . . . Jim Rowell playing bass guitar, giving the singing even greater meaning. Now, they want to share their blessings with others through this gospel long-play album. This record will fulfill a spiritual need in the lives of those who listen. Earl Sassamon Pastor, First Baptist Church Indian Trail, North Carolina EXPRESSING GOD’S LOVE This album by the Rhythmettes is sent forth with the sincere desire and prayer that it may convey to your heart and life the message of the matchless love of Christ, our Lord and Saviour. The message of these hymns is the same as the message proclaimed by the Lord Jesus, and later by the Apostles. Paul stated the purpose of the message in Ephesians 3:17-19: “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” The title song, “He Touched Me” conveys the heart-throb of the ministry of our Lord. The sick, the afflicted, the diseased, the infirmed knew that if they could but touch the hem of his garment they would be made perfectly whole.—Matthew 14:36. Jesus put forth his hand, and touched the leper, and immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Jesus came into Peter’s house one day, where his wife’s mother lay sick of a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Jesus, with his own hands made clay and anointed the eyes of the blind man and commanded him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. He went his way, and washed, and came seeing.—John 9:6-7. On another occasion, as Christ was entering the city of Nain, he met a funeral procession coming out of the city. The corpse was the son of a woman, who was a widow. The record declares that the Lord had compassion upon her, and commanded her to weep not. He came and touched the bier. He who was Himself, the resurrection and the life restored life to him that was dead. He that was dead sat up, and began to speak.—Luke 7:11-15. John summed up the message of love in I John 4:10 when he said: “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His son to be the propitation for our sins.” May these messages in song, that so beautifully portray God’s love and grace warm your heart, and tender your heart unto repentance of sin, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
