Brock D. L. Brock (1956- 2021) Education: B.A. Fine Arts, University of Houston Exhibits: "I of the Beholder" Exhibit, Houston Group Exhibit, Martin County Cultural Arts Center, Florida "Artiture" Group Exhibit, Contemporary Arts Center, Florida "Day of the Dead"- Ritablos Exhibit- Del Fuego, Atlanta "Handsome Devils" Exhibit, Atlanta "The Baby Jesus Chronicles" Exhibit, Atlanta D. L. Brock was influenced by fauvism, synthetic cubism, Caribbean art, naïve and outsider art over a 40 year period. Brock has created art through many mediums - charcoal, graphite, oil, acrylic, egg tempera, gouache and pastel. Over the past decade, Brock has dedicated his art to using all reclaimed materials including surface, paint, brushes etc. His painting surfaces have included reclaimed tin, burlap, cardboard, melaleuca bark, reclaimed press board, wood planks, stones etc. Telling a story, while giving a nod to such greats as RA Miller, Wölfli, Finster, Golub, Beardon, Basquiat, Rivera, Matisse, Picasso, Klee, Gauguin, Kandinsky, Miro; Brock paints with emotion and physicality in a naive primitive style.
