Japanese Linen Noren – Koi (Ojiya Chijimi) | Made in Japan A striking Japanese linen noren curtain featuring a bold Koi fish design. This piece is made in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, a region closely associated with Nishikigoi (ornamental koi carp) and also famous for traditional textiles. The fabric is a unique textured linen called “Chijimi”, inspired by the historic craft textile Ojiya Chijimi. Through a traditional process known as “Yumomi” (hot-water kneading), artisans carefully rub and knead the cloth in warm water to create beautiful natural crinkles (shibo texture). Every step is done by hand, resulting in a refined, organic texture and an elegant presence. Perfect as a doorway curtain, room divider, wall hanging, or Japanese-style interior décor.
