Howell High School Girls Basketball Team Early 1900s Michigan Antique Original Photo Photo is affixed to a cardstock backing. Along the bottom of the cardstock, "Coach Bailey" is written along with another name. In trying to narrow down a date for this image, I found a reference in the March 6, 1907 Livingston Republican (Howell) newspaper, which reads: "The high school girls are taking an active interest in the new gym. They practice every night after school and two evening a week. Basketball teams have been organized with Miss Baily as coach." While this doesn't exactly pinpoint the year, as I don't know if this image is from 1907 or not, it does offer a general time-frame. The photo itself measures approximately 4 5/8" x 7 5/8". The cardstock measures 5 1/4" x 7 7/8". "Howell, Michigan" is written across the top of the cardstock, above the photo, in ink. Item is in antique condition with uneven edges, surface scratches, edge chipping, dinged edges and corners, creasing, age discoloration and marks. On the back side of the cardstock, there are torn partial images, surface tearing, writing in ink, and other wear.
