DETAILS: Original pinback button issued by the Puerto Rican Socialists Party ( PRSP ) for the October 27, 1974, Puerto Rican Solidarity Day Concert held at Madison Square Gardens, New York City. The event began with speeches by members of the Young Lords Party ( YLP ) and the Black Panther Party ( BPP ). The concert that followed was headlined by Ray Barretto , Hector Lavoe and several of the Fania All Stars . The event drew 20,000 attendees and raised fund to support the release of Puerto Rican political prisoners. Measures 1 1/2" inches. Rare. One of only 2 examples known to still exist.
