Tour ! : Spring Tour '85 ! : March 10, 1985 ( 3/10/85 : 3/10/1985 ) - Berkeley Community Theatre ( BCT ) - Berkeley, California ( CA ) : 1985 Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ( GDP ) - Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) : Very Rare !!!!! Grateful Dead Fans !!! ... Fans of the East Bay ! - the B.C.T. !! & Bezerkeley !!! - and naturally too ... Fans of " Space !!! ". Offered here is the Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) featuring an Early ! '85 G.D. Backstage Pass version of a NASA Space Shuttle ( with G.D. 13-Point Lightning-Bolt ! ) - in Cartoon ! Art-Design Fashion ! ... for the March 10th, 1985 ( 3/10/1985 ) B.C.T. Show ! - at the Legendary ! Berkeley Community Theatre !! ... on the '85 Spring Tour !!! - " 20-Years So Far !!! ". Oh my Grateful Dead !!? An Unbelievable !! Backstage Pass here Dead Fans ... which really ended up being more of a ' Tribute ' Pass soon after - with consideration of the January 1986 Space Shuttle " Challenger " American Tragedy which so-sadly occured ... touching basically all of America & beyond. One of the most significant " remember right where you were, and exactly what you were doing " - at the very-moment it happened. As at least in my lifetime, this was one of the big unforgettable moments - and such a sad one. But, the Dead did indeed keep using this Pass design into the future - and too, the NASA Space Shuttle Program did go-on strong after - with nothing like that ever occurring to date, thank-goodness ... and count our lucky stars ! on that notion. But, swiftly back to Rock & Roll here ... and Back ! to the B.C.T. ! in 1985 !! - for the Good Ol' " Mid-80's !! " Grateful Dead !!! And oh-my-goodness ... did they ever Hammer ! this entire-run. I mean hey, the bar was set darn-tall ! after the havoc they laid upon the BCT in Fall of '84 ( Massive !!! ) ... making the anticipation for this '85 run just Huge !! They simply unloaded Magic ! on the B.C.T. in '84, and yep - you guessed it Fans ... Again ! in 1985 !! What a way to kick-off " 20-Years So Far " !!! This BCT Show ( Night # 2 of a 4-Show Stand !!!! ) was yet Another ! flat out toe-to-toe heater from this Legendary 1985 Tour ! ... and, pretty much at the ' front-end ' too, as there were only Three ( 3 ) '85 Kaiser Shows in February, before this March BCT run ! I mean talk-about some Mighty " Brent-Era " Heat !!! Whoa !! BCT >>> 3/10/85 !!!!! I don't know about you, but this G.D. sound, tone, energy, and what have you - is indeed ! is the Ballpark that my ears Love ! to play-in. There were " Moments of Magic ! " Everywhere !! in Spring '85 - and not just at this BCT run - as really the entire majority of this Whole-Tour ! was more than note-worthy. As the Band was just Super-Duper in the ' Groove ' ! And a lot of it, likely could be attributed to playing in Berkeley, at the BCT ! ... as they also Smoked ! this place during the Fall '84 Bay Area run - Big Time ! ( just think Gloria ! & Do It In The Road ! ). And as for this 3/10/85 Show !?! A Short ... but Sweet !!! 1st Set - opened with Stranger ! - included a massive Bird Song by Garcia - and closed with a Burner !!! delivery of Bucket > Rig Railroad Blues !!! And as for Set II ?? Well ... Hey Now ! -- as just try this one for size ... Samson ( Sunday Sermon style ! ) > Terrapin > Truckin' > Smokestack !!!!! Wow !!!!?! A Sweet ! Stella Blue, and then more Garcia Smoke & G.D. Lightning - in the form of GDTRFB - Johnny B. Goode ! - and Day Job !! And nope ... if you were about to ask ? I'll just go ahead & answer in advance ... I totally-dig Day Job !! - proudly in the Dead Fan majority, or - at least I suppose ... Ha ! Plus, the ' Twilight-Zone ' sound was just all-over-the-place ! on this BCT run too, as I have Cassette Masters of 3 of these 4 nights ... and there is creative Energy All -Over ! ... that is just Killer ! sound - B.K. & Mick getting-after ! it - with reckless abandon, on virtually-all of the Drums > Space Show-time. Well, kinda sad to say ( yet, not to spoil this fun !! ) - but ... Spring '86 was indeed it for the Band at the BCT - as the Fanfare was getting too big for such a small & intimate Venue. But, those who were really-really lucky got to see the 1st Phil & friends Show at the BCT in September 1994 !?!! This 9/24/94 Show featured the inaugural " Phil & Friends " line-up with Phil, Bobby ... & Jerry ! They Rocked-it " Unplugged " ... and in MTV-type style ! Or, at least as Bobby mentioned on-stage ! Hah !! Plus, I've always heard word on how much Phil loves Berkeley ... and, me too ! as it was my ol' stompin' ground for a short while - back in the day ( aka. The Mid-'90's ! ). So, as all of this rolls into one ... the conclusion is quite clear here - we'll just let this one speak for itself >>> Grateful Dead !!! " 20-Years So Far " !!!!! 3/10/85 BCT !!!!!!! Can't say it any-better than that ... Enjoy !!!!! Grateful Dead : 3/10/1985 : Berkeley Community Theatre - Berkeley, California ( CA ) : Setlist >>> Set 1 : Feel Like A Stranger, Peggy-O, C.C. Rider > Bird Song, Hell In A Bucket > Big Railroad Blues Set 2 : Samson & Delilah > Terrapin Station > Truckin' > Smokestack Lightning > Drums > Space > Stella Blue > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > Around & Around > Johnny B.
