Certified Authentic "Bum Knee Collection" book. This is 1 of the 3,100 original owner books included in the "Bum Knee Collection". COA that lists identifying markings is included. T he true story of his “Bum Knee”: In the spring of 69’ a Kansas City kid was grown and facing the war in Vietnam. Instead of waiting to be drafted he enlisted. At the end of his physical the doctor turned to him and said, “son it looks like you don’t have to go to war. You’ve got a bum knee”. The young man turned, looked the doc in the eye and said, “you’ve got me here, knees fine. Send me.” The shocked doctor took a moment to collect himself, sighed, and signed off. Sending him to war. D uring one particularly intense firefight the communications specialist was killed. Taking up the radio and slinging it on his back our soldier climbed up and out of his fox hole into a hail of bullets. It was at this precise moment that his “Bum Knee” gave out and he dropped to the ground like a stone. As he fell the radio on his back was blasted off by gunfire! He didn’t have a scratch on him. The “Bum Knee” had saved his life. In honor of this story, his bravery, and their faith; we are pleased to present, “The Bum Knee Collection.” All books are complete and unrestored unless otherwise noted.
