Marc Silvestri (who also signed this issue, and is a phenomenal artist in his own right) discovered Turner at a convention in the early 90s, and after witnessing Turner’s abilities, he hired Michael on the spot. Turner was a prodigy, and an amazing artist that influenced a generation of up and coming artists during the 90s and 2000s. His work on Fathom, Superman, Wolverine: Origins, Ultimate Wolverine, and Witchblade are timeless, and remain as some of the best selling and well respected comic runs of the modern era. He was truly one of the nicest people you would ever meet. He was dedicated to his craft and was known for staying hours sometimes past his scheduled signings to make sure everyone was happy, and he even did this while he was going through immense pain while battling a rare form of bone cancer. Sadly, Michael Turner lost his hard fought battle with cancer and passed away on June 27, 2008, at just 37 years of age. So these signed Turner’s are very limited and highly regarded. Don’t let this one pass you by!!
