Description

This is a cohesive and thoughtfully curated group of early 20th-century Native American photographic postcards and real photo images documenting Osage, Pawnee, Ponca, and Otoe people, ceremonies, and daily life in Oklahoma. What elevates this set beyond a typical postcard lot is its intentional assembly and preservation. Each image is accompanied by typed descriptive captions that provide cultural and contextual information, reading more like interpretive notes than souvenir labels. The group was kept intact within its original estate envelope addressed to Major John Bivans of Tulsa, Oklahoma, strongly suggesting careful stewardship and purposeful curation rather than casual accumulation. The photographs themselves present a broad narrative range, including: • Family and home scenes • Ceremonial dances and regalia • Portraits of identified individuals and leaders • Multi-generational groupings Taken together, the images and captions reflect a deliberate effort to document Native life in Oklahoma during the period, offering both visual and written context that is rarely preserved as a complete set. All pieces are offered together as found, including the original envelope. Individual conditions vary consistent with age, but the overall integrity of the group is excellent. No attempt has been made to separate or rearrange the collection. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a cohesive, provenance-supported documentary group suitable for an advanced collection, institutional reference, or long-term archival preservation. Please see pics for complete description and condition. Thanks for shopping!

  1. Car was a collectable treasure hunt. Putting it in an envelope to ship is risky. I realize it is only a hot wheel but customers-Me, expect what we buy to show up as described and not damaged. When the packaging on a collectable matters, it should be important to you to make sure it shows up undamaged I left you a positive feedback but please do better for your future customers! Still, very cool, thank you!

  2. I purchased at a decent price and the seller sent as described in good condition, and in a reasonably timely manner, packed acceptably, for a tolerable shipping cost. The quality of the item looks decent. And it has a clean and maintained appearance. I don’t recall significant communication from the seller. However, I would still buy from again. Thank you.

  3. Great vendor. Items sold are well worth what they sell it for. Item is exactly as described Very fast delivery Packed very well to prevent damage. Was funny that we only live about 20 miles apart. I will make a point to check your site/store for other items. Will have to be careful. This was the last buckle that will fit in or on my display shelf.
