Marked $650 on Frame:appears to be the original wood frame with “worm” holes to give it a nice distressed look Biographical info: Fidel Figueroa was a well known artist in Taxco, Mexico. He was founder (along with his wife (author Leslie de la Figueroa) and Director of the Taxco School of the Arts; also teaching there. He was known as an outstanding landscape artist. Most of his paintings were of Taxco, Mexico. The school was active in the 1940s and 1950s and taught painting, drawing plus workshops with master silversmiths including Antonio Castillo and William Spratling.
