The 78 "sandwich" is then placed in the oversized box on top of peanut foam filler material below, above and around the record to cushion it as well as possible. Grading (PLEASE READ SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES) All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, I give an "overall presentation" grade, supplemented when necessary with additional remarks (which is more often than not). Please refer to the grading system below for a more detailed explanation as well as my general comments above in the grading description. The VJM Grading System N (78). As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed). N- (78). Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage. E+ (78). Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets. E ( 78 ). Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches. E- (78) . Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches. V+ (78). V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced. V (78) . Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive. V- (78) . Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level. G+ (78) . Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches. G (78) . Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise. G- (78) . Music still prominent, but wear and scatch damage extensive. F (78) . Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening now uncomfortable. P (78) . Unplayable. PLAY-GRADING: Most of my records are play-graded unless I state that they are visually graded. With regards to play-grading, I always leave additional commentary with regards to the grading. I love the EP which was put in a plastic bag, sandwiched in between 3 pieces of corrugated cardboard and boxed. I got it safely after it was air-shipped in a mailer labelled "Fragile". The item is as described per the seller's words and clear photos. The EP is of value to me as it has the song, "Cerasella" as sung in the 1959 Italian film, "Cerasella" where 20-year-old Terence Hill falls in love with Claudia Mori when he works for her as a lifeguard!
