Description
A German poured and molded papier mache red mica Belsnickel / Santa Claus figural candy container with the original bottom cap and hanging string, circa 1910-1920s. The Belsnickel is standing upon what appears to be a rock and is holding a tree branch. The item is marked on the bottom cap “Made in Germany”. A great piece for a serious German antique Christmas display and one that is rarely found in this condition. Condition: Excellent / Near Mint condition: Small void near the seam, loss the branch foliage, and a linear paint separation towards the bottom of the candy container. We leave our pieces in the as found state but the buyer could replace the tree with another tree from the era. Measurements: 6” T, 2.5” W, 1.5” D All measurements are taken from the nearest half inch.
