Description
1865 US Army voucher signed twice by James F. Wade as Colonel of the 6 th US Colored Cavalry (the start of a nearly 23 year career commanding African-American cavalrymen). Wade served the Union Army during the Civil War that had only just ended. Later during the Spanish-American War, Wade served as a major general of U.S. Army volunteers. 16 X 11. Very good condition.
